Intercultural Development Inventory

The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) assesses intercultural competence—the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities. The Intercultural Development Inventory is a 50-item questionnaire available online that can be completed in 15–20 minutes.

If you are interested in using the IDI as a tool for your team, please submit the request form.  The assessment can be administered and debriefed for your team by an IDI-Qualified Administrator affiliated with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) Inventory, an 18-item questionnaire, is easy to use, cross-culturally validated assessment of an individual’s approach to communicating, resolving conflicts, and solving problems. The ICS Inventory takes 15 minutes to complete.

By completing the Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory, individuals will:

  • Increase cultural self-understanding of their own communication and conflict-resolution approach
  • Increase cultural other-understanding—of diverse approaches others use to communicate ideas and resolve conflict
  • Better manage stress and anxiety that is often present in conflict situations
  • Use culturally responsive strategies in communicating your goals and interests to others
  • More accurately interpret the statements and actions of the other party

Cost:  $20 per person
Two-hr Group Debrief and Discussion: $400
