WFU child care center planned to open in September

After a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, Wake Forest University has selected KinderCare Learning Companies for Employers to operate a child care and early education center in the University Corporate Center (UCC).

The center, “KinderCare at Wake Forest University,” is projected to open in September, dependent upon timely completion of construction and center licensing. Beginning Mar. 6, interested families may contact KinderCare directly to speak with an enrollment specialist and to discuss the registration process.

Update on the Campus Climate Survey and next steps

Thank you for the remarkable contributions you have made to our community by participating in the Belonging and Inclusion Campus Evaluation survey.

Because of your commitment to sharing your experiences, we were able to achieve strong response rates, including: 28% participation from students, 50% from faculty, and 68% from staff. Now that the survey has closed, we want to share next steps as we aim to use analysis of these findings to increase Wake Foresters’ access to all that Wake Forest has to offer.

Belonging and Inclusion Climate Evaluation Survey is Live

As part of our commitment to institutional evaluation and actions that demonstrate inclusive excellence, Wake Forest is administering a campus climate survey as part of the Belonging and Inclusion Climate Evaluation from January 22-February 15, 2024.

Belonging and Inclusion Climate Evaluation survey coming in January 2024

As part of our commitment to institutional evaluation and actions that demonstrate inclusive excellence, Wake Forest will administer a campus climate survey as part of the Belonging and Inclusion Climate Evaluation (BICE) in mid-January 2024. Wake Forest has partnered with Rankin Climate, an organization that has more than 20 years of experience working with more than 200 universities, to conduct the climate survey.

Wake Forest University Child Care Center plans move forward

Wake Forest University plans to establish a child care and early education center. During its October 27 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution to renovate space to house the center.

The goal is to open the doors in early fall 2024.

Diversity Status Report on Faculty and Staff for AY 2022-2023

Wake Forest University has recently completed a Diversity Status Report (DSR) on Faculty and Staff for AY 2022-2023 and has just concluded rolling out the report to Institutional Governance Boards.

While the first DSR, released in April 2023, focused on Student Enrollment, this next report focuses on demographic information and trends for Faculty and Staff. The next planned DSR will address Degree Completion and will be shared in fall 2023. All told, the University plans on producing these three reports on an annual basis. Past DSRs for each academic year, such as the Student Enrollment for AY2022-2023, can be found at the Data and Reports tab on this website.

Wake Forest University has recently completed a Diversity Status Report on Student Enrollment for AY 2022-2023 and has just concluded rolling out the report to Institutional Governance Boards.

Although the first of these reports focus on Student Enrollment, reports on Staff and Faculty, as well as Degree Completion, will be shared over the coming months. All told, the University plans on producing these three reports on an annual basis.


Working Group membership announced for Strategic Framework process

To advance the University’s Strategic Framework process, five working groups have begun exploring opportunities within the areas of emphasis announced by President Susan R. Wente on December 15. By design, the working group topics may support multiple thematic goals of the Strategic Framework. Learn more here.
